Hospital Pricing Information Provided by the Minnesota Hospital Association
MHA has made public the charges for all inpatient diagnosis related group (DRGs) and the top 25 outpatient surgical procedures. These are not prices that a person with insurance should expect to pay. These charges are an average of what the hospital charges all payers - commercial insurers, Medicare and Medicaid. It does not include charges for the physician or other professional fees, such as pharmacy, diagnostic imaging, or lab work.
These reports can help you compare overall charges among health care providers, but should not be used as an estimate for what you will have to pay. If you are insured, contact your health insurance provider (link to insurance provider information page on MHA site). They will be able to tell you what the hospital's price will be for all of your services as well as what your out-of-pocket, co-pay and deductible will be. If you are uninsured, contact your hospital for a price estimate (link for uninsured page on MHA site).
