This Web site provides details about the quality of care in Minnesota hospitals for four of the most common and costly causes of hospitalization: heart attacks, heart failure, pneumonia and surgical care. It provides information specific to Minnesota hospitals for one year at a time and is updated quarterly. Statistics on additional causes, for example, surgical infection prevention measures, will be added over time.

Minnesota hospitals voluntarily reported their statistics on how often they have provided adults the recommended care measures, which include, for example, whether a heart attack patient was given aspirin upon arrival at the hospital or whether a blood test was performed for a pneumonia patient.
