MNA's concern for safe staffing forms
On Aug. 11, 2014, the Minnesota Nurses Association (MNA) posted on its website and communicated to members a new "Concern for Safe Staffing Form." This process urges union members to complete as many of these forms to be used as a political prop in the union's attempt to convince legislators that Minnesota hospitals are unsafe.
MHA sent a letter in response to MNA president Linda Hamilton.
In addition, MHA also sent a letter to the Minnesota Board of Nursing and a letter to the Minnesota Department of Health and key legislative leaders raising concerns that these forms and the process may induce nurses to violate their statutorily mandated reporting obligations.
