ICYMI: Rural Minnesota maternity care services under pressure

Hospitals across Minnesota are struggling to maintain labor and delivery departments amid mounting challenges. Rick Ash, CEO of United Hospital District in Blue Earth, told FOX-9: 

“It’s not a matter of five or 10 miles to get to their local hospital to deliver their baby, now it’s potentially 20, 30, 40, 50, or 60 miles, and potentially more depending on where you’re starting from.”

He also spoke about some of the solutions and strategies United Hospital District is using to maintain its labor and delivery services.
