Minnesota hospitals face potential closure, policies force service line closures across the state

The potential closure of Hennepin Healthcare’s HCMC has driven headlines about hospital closures and what they would mean for Minnesotans – but this isn’t a one-hospital issue. Across the state, hospitals are being forced to cut service lines to avoid shutting their doors, and some hospitals are at risk of closure altogether.  

 

These hospitals are sounding the alarm across the state: 

 

MHA is calling on policymakers to protect 340B, establish a statewide funding source to ensure continuity of care for every Minnesotan by supporting hospitals, address chronic Medicaid underfunding, and oppose federal reconciliation cuts.
